Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to run a ZAP compared with petrol?
It depends on how far you ride and what you pay for electricity. At 30 km a day, ₹8 a unit and ₹100 a litre of petrol, our calculator estimates about ₹4,800 a year for a ZAP against ₹27,000 for a petrol scooter. Try your own numbers in the calculator above.
Can I charge my ZAP at home?
Yes. Every ZAP comes with a micro charger with auto cutoff that plugs into a suitable household socket.
Do I need a driving licence?
ZAP's low-speed models have a top speed of 25 km/h. Qualifying low-speed electric scooters that meet the prescribed requirements can be ridden in India without a driving licence or vehicle registration. Your dealer can confirm the certification of the model you choose.
How far can I travel on one charge?
Between 60 and 120 km, depending on the model and battery. Each model page lists its range per charge. Real-world range varies with load, road and riding style.
What is the difference between GEL and lithium-ion?
Both are offered across the range. A GEL (lead) battery charges in 6–8 hours; a lithium-ion battery in 3–5 hours. Battery options vary by model — your dealer can tell you what is available for each model.
Where can I get my ZAP serviced?
Through the ZAP dealer network. Get in touch through the dealer section and we will point you to the nearest one.
